The financial technology company BlockBen, which very recently received a license from the Bank of Latvia to provide crypto-asset services, will issue the first patented cryptocurrency in Latvia and the European Union for the crowdfunding service provider LLC CrowdedHero, called CrowdX.
This cooperation marks a new era for blockchain-based crowdfunding in the European Union, as no such token has been issued in Latvia until now – neither before nor after the introduction of the MiCA regulation, making this initiative completely new in the local market.
The announcement comes just a week after the BlockBen group received a license under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), under the supervision of the Bank of Latvia. CrowdX will be the first token project compliant with MiCA requirements to be launched by BlockBen, and it will be issued for the Latvian financial institution CrowdedHero, whose operations are also supervised by the Bank of Latvia.
“We have been following BlockBen’s activities for years and had planned to launch our own cryptocurrency,” said CrowdedHero CEO Jānis Blaževičs. “With the support of BlockBen experts, we developed a competitive token structure in a short time – the first solution of its kind in the EU crowdfunding market. This year we started a broader technological transformation, integrating fast and efficient blockchain solutions and opening our projects to crypto users and blockchain-savvy investors.”
Under the agreement, BlockBen will issue CrowdX exclusively on its platform. The token will become an essential part of CrowdedHero’s long-term business model, supporting the company’s technological development and deeper integration of blockchain solutions.
“We are particularly pleased that our new platform client, after obtaining a MiCA license, is a regulated financial company,” said BlockBen Chairman of the Board Viktor Bodnár. “The crowdfunding market has significant growth potential, and CrowdX can become an important benchmark. The fact that a Latvian company supervised by the Bank of Latvia is the first to launch a new project with us under MiCA confirms both the maturity of the Baltic financial ecosystem and the readiness of EU regulation for real innovation.”
